Over 30 years professional experience
Like most photographers, Thom Scheele started a passion for photography in his youth. Collecting old cameras purchased at yard sales and taking photos of everything. That lead to high school and college newspaper photographer positions. While in college, Thom started his first portrait business that funded a couple spring break trips and more equipment.
With his college degree in hand, he naturally headed to Colorado and officially became a ski bum, producing family ski videos on the slopes and washing dishes to keep his ski pass active.
He also worked as an assistant and was mentored by Minneapolis based fashion photographer Lee Stanford.
After a few years of traveling between Minnesota and Colorado he traded in the ski boots for flip flops and moved to the Caribbean as a family resort portrait photographer. Soon thereafter, he met the love of his life, Sarah, and together established a 14 year long photography contract business with Club Med Resort, opening locations in Dominican Republic, St. Lucia, Bahamas and Crested Butte, Colorado.
They had two children while living in the Dominican Republic, some seriously fun adventures, and lastly owned and operated a Life is Good store in Punta Cana. Now back in Maine, Thom brings his experience and passion for photography with a laid back attitude and optimistic vibe. He looks forward to helping you create a new and positive online identity.
